Check in is from 4pm but it’s always possible the room will be available earlier, so please call us and check. You will be sent an online check-in form to e-sign the day before arrival which sets out our T&Cs and requests important information such as vehicle registration number in order for you to gain access to the automated car park.
Departure is from 11am although we are happy to leave it until later if there are no incoming guests for the room.
Please advise the hotel if you wish to arrive after 10pm as the doors will be locked. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day.
We have parking available at rear of the hotel for residents, which can be accessed from Friary Lane. (Turn into North Square from the High Street, then first right into Friary Lane and the car park is on the right.) Access to the car park is via number plate recognition so please ensure you inform the hotel of your car registration prior to arrival.

Dogs are welcome on the 1st floor rooms at a charge of £15 per dog per stay and this must be arranged with the hotel in advance. If you are bringing a dog then they must not be left alone in the bedroom/bathroom at any time unless they are in a secure crate. Your dog can accompany you to the bar and old smoking room, where we serve our full restaurant menu, so they need not spend any time without you! Any damage caused to the paintwork or furnishings by a dog left unaccompanied will be chargeable.
Any Advanced Purchase Early Booker rates must be pre-paid in full at the time of the booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable. For all other bookings we ask that they are cancelled before midnight 2 full days prior to arrival to avoid a penalty charge of the full stay.
We ask that bookings of 3 or more rooms are cancelled 14 days prior to arrival to avoid cancellation charges.
Group bookings of 8 rooms or more may be cancelled free of charge 4 weeks prior to arrival date, if cancelled within this time frame a cancellation fee will apply.
Please note we do not pay commission to 3rd party agents who book direct with the hotel and/or with whom there is no signed, written contract.
Card details are required to secure the booking and your card will be charged the full amount 48 hours prior to arrival, in line with the cancellation policy.
Whichever direction you’re driving from (A37 from the North or A35/A31 from the East), the roads towards Dorchester provide some of the most beautiful views imaginable.
Equally stunning scenery travelling on the Weymouth train from London Waterloo to Dorchester South, which is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, past the pretty Brewery Square, or short taxi ride away.
Although we have a lift in the building for the 1st and 2nd floors, none of our bedrooms are adapted for wheelchair access.
The ground floor of the hotel is accessible in a wheelchair and there is a disabled toilet.
